
Tuljabhavani Temple
Tuljabhavani at Tuljapur is one of Maharashtra's most revered Devi temples and is counted among the state's principal Shakti Peeths. The goddess is especially significant as the family deity (Kuladevata) of the Bhonsle dynasty, including Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Significance
Tuljapur is one of the 'Saade-teen Shakti Peeths' (three-and-a-half Shakti Peeths) of Maharashtra, a grouping widely followed within the state's devotional tradition.
How to Reach
Tuljapur is around 45 km from Solapur and roughly 6–7 hours by road from Shirdi. It is commonly combined with Kolhapur on a Maharashtra Devi darshan circuit.
Best Time to Visit
October to March; Navratri sees very large crowds and is worth planning around carefully.
