How to Reach Shirdi
Shirdi is well connected for a pilgrimage town of its size, with its own airport, its own railway station, and good road links across Maharashtra. Which option makes sense depends mostly on where you're travelling from and how much time you have.
By air
Shirdi has its own airport (Shirdi Airport, IATA: SAG), located about 15 km from the temple, with domestic flight connections to several major Indian cities. This is the fastest option if you're travelling from outside Maharashtra and want to minimise total travel time.
By rail
Sainagar Shirdi railway station sits close to the town centre and is served by trains connecting to Mumbai, Pune, Manmad and other regional junctions, with some longer-distance connections as well. Rail is a comfortable, budget-friendly option, especially for overnight journeys.
By road
Shirdi sits on well-maintained state and national highway routes. As a rough guide, Mumbai is around 5–6 hours by road, Pune around 4–5 hours, and Nashik under 2 hours — actual time depends on traffic and your exact starting point.
- From Mumbai: approx. 5–6 hours by road
- From Pune: approx. 4–5 hours by road
- From Nashik: approx. 1.5–2 hours by road
- From Aurangabad: approx. 2.5–3 hours by road
